Microsoft Surface Neo hands-on video appeared online

In October 2019, Microsoft announced the launch of Surface Neo, a dual-screen tablet equipped with Windows 10X, which is used with Microsoft Surface Duo smartphones. Surface Duo was finally released a year later, but Microsoft’s Surface Neo never really went on the market, but Microsoft insists that this device is only a delay, not a cancellation, said Panos Panay, director of Microsoft’s equipment department.

“Neo has been postponed. I hope to have the right time to bring that product with the right experience. We believe in this concept and shape design and size. It will be a beautiful complement to Surface Duo and Windows 10, and I am excited about it, This is a product in my mind.”

And a year later, Windows 10X is repositioned as a laptop instead of a tablet, and we can say with certainty that this device will not be on sale in a short period of time. However, hardware hacker Calyx Hikari seems to have managed to get a prototype of this tablet and released the following short video:

With the unfortunate disappearance of the screen, the video is naturally unlikely to have a runtime performance, but it does show the fashion of this hardware. Surface Neo has only 1 USB-C port, the power and volume buttons are located on one edge, and no fingerprints appear.

The recognizer is different from Surface Duo. It has built-in dual batteries, one side is 1260 mAh, and the other side is 2270 mAh. It is generally believed that the dual-screen version of Windows 10X will not arrive until 2022, and with Microsoft’s abundant R&D funds, they may try to turn their vision into reality again.
