Personal data of 1.3 million Clubhouse users was leaked

The user database of Clubhouse, a popular audio social network, was leaked in a popular hacker forum, containing private data of 1.3 million users. According to reports, Clubhouse’s leaked user database contained private information such as user ID, name, photo URL, Twitter user name, Instagram user name, number of followers, account creation date and other private information.

However, the leaked SQL database only contained Clubhouse user profile information, and no sensitive information, such as credit cards and legal documents, was found. But even if it’s just the user’s name and other profile profiles, these profiles can help identify and establish connections with the user’s other social media profiles. This is enough for a cybercriminal veteran to cause real harm to the user, because it may be used to target Clubhouse and Attacks by its users.

In particular, it should be pointed out that the attacker can combine the information in the leaked SQL database with other leaked data to create detailed configuration information of the target potential victim. Armed with this information, attackers can carry out older phishing and social engineering attacks, and can even carry out identity theft against people whose information has been leaked on hacker forums.
