Android 11 software update rolled out for Samsung Galaxy M40

The physical design of the Galaxy M40 isn’t all that different from the others in the M-series. It features a glossy plastic frame and rear panel. The body attracts fingerprints very easily but surprisingly, it isn’t too slippery for one-handed use. The buttons are clicky but we found the volume rocker to be a little out of reach. The plastic rear picked up minor scuffs and scratches quite easily with ordinary everyday use. It would be advisable to invest in a case since you don’t get one bundled.

The 6.3-inch display (6.1-inch factoring in the rounded corners) has Gorilla Glass for scratch protection and a Full-HD+ resolution (1080×2340 pixels). However, it’s a PLS TFT LCD panel instead of Samsung’s Super AMOLED panels, which are used on the Galaxy M30 and similarly priced A-series models. This isn’t a very big deal as the display is bright, produces vibrant colors, and has good viewing angles.

Recently, Samsung’s older tab called Galaxy Tab Active 3 got the Android 11 based One UI 3.0 software update as well as also includes the March 2021 security patch update. Now, at this time, the South Korean firm released the same Android 11 based One UI 3.0 software update for its Galaxy M40 device in India.

According to the information, this build’s version number didn’t mention. This update should bring standard Android 11 features like one-time permissions, auto permissions reset, chat bubbles, a media player widget in the quick settings toggle area, a conversations section, and easier access to smart home controls.

It also includes One UI 3 related features, including a redesigned UI, refreshed icons, more Dynamic Lockscreen options and lock screen widgets, improved stock apps, a newer version of Samsung Keyboard and Samsung Internet, and improved Digital Wellbeing and parental controls.

Owners of the Galaxy M40 can receive notification of this update. By chance you don’t receive an update notification then check the update manually by going to the device Settings >> Software updates >> Download and install.

Note: Before upgrading to the latest version make sure your smartphone is connected with a proper internet connection, we recommend you to download it over WIFI so that you will not face any error.
