The new code shows Pixel 5a 5G comes with Snapdragon 765G chip

Earlier this month, Google confirmed that their entry smartphone Pixel 5a 5G will be released later this year. Based on the latest Android 12 developer preview, Pixel 5a 5G will run the same chip as Pixel 5. After news that Pixel 5a 5G has been cancelled, Google came forward to confirm that this device is still in development, but only confirmed the name of this device, but did not provide an exact release date. However, judging from the product name, the machine should use a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor compatible with 5G networks.

For now, let us start with the list of candidate chips. In fact, the range of options for Pixel 5a 5G is quite large. As for what kind of performance this mid-range phone will have, to a large extent depends on the choice of Qualcomm chipset. If Pixel 5a 5G continues to use Qualcomm chipsets, there are exactly four options:

  • Snapdragon 480
  • Snapdragon 690
  • Snapdragon 765G
  • Snapdragon 768G

With the release of Android 12 Developer Preview 3, Dylan Roussel of 9to5Google reverse-compiled it. I found a lot of information about the code name “Barbet” in the code, which basically confirms that it is Pixel 5a 5G. In addition, the code also shows “sm7250”, which means it will bring Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chip.
