Foxconn’s substantial salary increase to prepare for Apple iPhone 13/Pro

According to reports, in order to welcome the upcoming iPhone 13 mass production, Foxconn’s Zhengzhou factory has increased the bonuses of new employees three times within a month. According to the recruitment information of the “Digital Product Business Group” (iDPBG) at Foxconn’s Zhengzhou plant, if new employees on the production line have worked for 90 days and have been on the job for at least 55 days, they will receive a bonus of RMB 7,500. iDPBG is responsible for producing iPhones for Apple.

According to Times Weekly, on May 9, an employee of the Foxconn plant in Zhengzhou said that the bonus paid by his Foxconn plant for recruiting employees changed from time to time, mainly related to production arrangements and not to the season.

But from Foxconn’s recruitment information, the company’s previous bonuses were highly related to the timeline of Apple’s mobile phone replacement. Since the beginning of last year, the internal recommended partners of Foxconn’s related business groups have increased the bonus layer by layer. After the release of the iPhone 12, the bonus amount has reached the historical peak of $1559.

On May 9th, another Foxconn factory employee in Zhengzhou said that after the new bonus policy was released, due to a large number of applicants, the company had suspended interviews on May 8th and 9th. Regarding whether the bonus increase is related to iPhone 13 production, Foxconn stated that due to company policy and commercial sensitivity considerations, it does not comment on the work of operators or customers.

In terms of products, in addition to the smaller notch, the iPhone 13 series is expected to provide a 120Hz screen, in-screen fingerprint recognition, an upgraded camera and a new A15 Bionic chipset. The screen size is the same as the iPhone 12 series, including 5.4 inches, two 6.1 inches, and 6.7 inches.
