Samsung applied for 4 more trademarks, Galaxy Z Fold 3/Z Flip 3 will upgrade UTG technology

There are already many rumors about the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3, and these two foldable phones are expected to go online this summer. After applying for the 4 trademarks of Armor Frame, Armor Skin, Armor Layer and Pro-Shield, Samsung recently submitted 4 more trademark applications related to foldable products.

Samsung Display submitted 4 trademarks with attached logos to the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) on May 10, 2021. These trademarks are UTG 2.0, UTG+, S-UTG and DragonGlass. All four are trademarks description referred to as the “smartphone screen.”

It is reported that Samsung hopes to strengthen the “Ultra-Thin Glass” (UTG) display, which was unveiled on the Galaxy Z Flip for its next-generation folding phone. Now that Samsung has defined the names of UTG 2.0, UTG+ and S-UTG, this rumor seems to have been confirmed.

However, it is still unclear whether there is a difference between UTG 2.0, UTG+ and S-UTG, but UTG 2.0 may be used for Z Flip 3, and UTG Plus or S-UTG may be used for Z Fold 3.
