Apple has released the final versions of iPhone and iPad iOS 14.6 and iPadOS 14.6, the new version brings a lot of improvements and fixes, including podcast subscriptions and Apple Card Family support. The complete and final update log for iOS 14.6 and iPad OS 14.6 is as follows:

Apple Card Family

  • Apple Card can be shared with up to five people, including anyone 13 or older in the family sharing group.
  • Apple Card Family adds support for family tracking expenditures, manages expenditures through optional limits and controls, and jointly establishes credit records.

Podcast

  • Subscription support for channels and individual programs.

AirTag & Find My

  • Lost mode option to add email addresses instead of phone numbers for AirTag and Find My network accessories.
  • When accessed with an NFC-enabled device, AirTag will display the partially blocked phone number of the owner.

Accessibility

  • Voice-controlled users can unlock their iPhone with only voice for the first time after restarting.

This version also fixes the following issues:

  • After using locked iPhone on Apple Watch, unlocking with Apple Watch may not work.
  • Reminders may appear as blank lines.
  • Call blocking extension may not appear in settings.
  • Bluetooth devices may sometimes disconnect or send audio to different devices during a call.
  • iPhone may experience performance degradation during startup.
  • This update does not include the lossless version of Apple Music, which is scheduled to be released in June with iOS14.7 and iPadOS14.7.

Users can download the latest version via OTA, the steps are as follows:

  • Make sure your iPhone or iPad has 50% or more battery life, otherwise you must connect it to the charger.
  • Connect to Wi-Fi.
  • Launch the Settings application.
  • Navigate to General> Software Update.
  • When the new update is displayed, click to download and install.
