Apple announces list of macOS Monterey compatible models

During the WWDC 2021 keynote speech held today, Apple focused on the functional updates and improvements of various software platforms. On the macOS desktop platform, multiple product lines including Mac mini, iMac, iMac Pro, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro have all received update support for the larger version of Monterey.

As always, before updating macOS Monterey, please find out if the device model you have is compatible with it.

The following is the device support list officially announced by Apple:

  • iMac (Late 2015 and later models)
  • iMac Pro (2017 and later models)
  • MacBook Air (early 2015 and subsequent models)
  • MacBook Pro (early 2015 and subsequent models)
  • Mac Pro (Late 2013 and subsequent models)
  • Mac mini (Late 2014 and later models)
  • MacBook (early 2016 and subsequent models)

If you are not sure of your Mac model, please click the Apple Logo on the top menu bar, move to About This Mac, and then check the line under the system version number (the example below is a 2020 13-inch M1 MacBook Pro). For those of you who want to experience Apple’s latest software, now is definitely the best time to upgrade your Mac to macOS Monterey. But if it is not on the support list, the device will definitely not get the official update push.
