Microsoft Defender ATP will soon be able to detect whether the iPhone is jailbroken

MSPU reported that if your mobile phone is under the unified management of Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, the IT administrator will soon be able to detect whether your iPhone has been jailbroken. Shravan Thota, Microsoft’s senior project manager, explained: “After an abnormality is detected by Microsoft 365 Defender, the security team will receive relevant alerts and treat specific terminals as high-risk devices.”

Microsoft pointed out that jailbroken devices are not restricted by Apple’s official iOS malware protection mechanism and cannot be updated regularly, which may pose additional threats to corporate data security.

Shravan Thota added: These types of devices will bring additional risks to your organization and a higher probability of non-compliance, and this risk scoring mechanism will be combined with the customer’s application protection/device compliance policy so that IT administrators can block Its access to the company resources.

For users who have jailbroken iPhones, if your device is also managed by Microsoft Defender ATP, please restore it to its original state as soon as possible before you can’t access the company network.
