Samsung Exynos processor equipped with AMD GPU revealed

In terms of mobile processor performance, Apple has been dominating for many years and has hardly been challenged, but this may have to change. AMD has been working with Samsung to introduce their Radeon GPU to the Samsung Exynos processor. Now the first running scores of the two processors have been released, and the results are amazing.

The tipster Ice Universe released the benchmark test results of the 3dMark Wild Life part of the new Samsung Exynos processor. The screenshot shows that the Exynos chipset with AMD Radeon GPU and Cortex-A77 CPU scored 8134 points, and the average frame rate was 50fps, as a comparison, iPhone 12 equipped with an A14 processor scored 7442 points, with an average frame rate of 40fps.

It is worth noting that after the final chipset (Exynos 2200) is switched to ARM’s latest Cortex-X2 and Cortex-A710 CPU cores, it is faster than the Cortex-A77 core used in the above test, and the performance should be better.

Apple’s M1 processor’s GPU is still faster, with a typical score of 17,000 in the 3DMark Wild Life test. Of course, this is also a score obtained with better heat dissipation. Of course, Apple’s upcoming iPhone 13 will be equipped with updated A-series processors, and its performance will naturally not be underestimated.

The energy efficiency of AMD GPU remains to be seen, and its actual performance will only be known when the Galaxy S22 series is launched early next year.
