On Instagram, you can add links to external web pages to your Stories using the swipe-up gesture, but only users with a certain number of followers can do it. A new test of the social network aims to somehow “remove” this limitation.
In fact, a new sticker is available for a small number of users to be included in their Stories that allows you to redirect to a certain link, in a very similar way to what happens with the swipe-up function, but without limitations related to the number of followers. Moreover, it is also possible to reply to this kind of Story with links, which is not possible in those with active swipe up.

Vishal Shah, head of product at Instagram, said that the links people post will be controlled in some way, in order to avoid spam and misinformation. The links are currently limited to Stories and Shah says there is “no plan” to get them in the feed or anywhere else in the app.
