Microsoft released Windows 11 Build 22000.65 (KB5004745)

Microsoft announced the release of Windows 11 Build 22000.65 update (KB5004745) to users of the Insider Program. This is the second update of Windows 11. A new search bar has been added to the power mode of the Start menu and Windows settings, and the overall taskbar experience has been improved.

Microsoft has also fixed a remote code execution vulnerability in the Windows Print Spooler service, which is the PrintNightmare documented in CVE-2021-34527. Microsoft said that the first Windows 11 Bug Bash will run from July 7th to July 14th. Throughout the Bug Bash, Microsoft will publish tasks in the feedback center, covering different areas of Windows 11.

Changes & Improvements

  • Now there is a search box, users can more easily find what they are looking for.
  • The taskbar now supports multiple displays, which can be enabled through Settings-Personalization-Taskbar.
  • Microsoft has updated a number of system alert dialogs, such as when the user’s laptop battery is low or when the user uses the new Windows 11 visual design to change the display settings.
  • The Power Mode setting is now available on the Power and Battery page of Settings.
  • Right-clicking on the desktop now has a refresh option directly, without the need to click Show more options.
  • Right-clicking on the .ps1 file in File Explorer now has the option to run PowerShell directly, without the need to click Show more options.
  • Microsoft is improving portrait window capture on small PCs, allowing users to choose to capture three applications on top of each other instead of capturing four quadrants on a tablet with a smaller display.
  • Based on the cooperation with China’s GIF provider Flash Meng, Chinese Windows Insider members can select GIF through the emoji panel (WIN + .). If the location is set to China, then the GIF data will appear from weshineapp.com.
  • Right-clicking on the volume icon in the taskbar now includes an option to troubleshoot sound issues.

  • Fixed the problem that some icons in the context menu of File Explorer might be blurred.
  • Fixed the issue that the “View More” menu in the File Explorer command bar would not close when clicking on the option.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause a new folder not to be created on the desktop.

Search for

  • Fixed an issue where a gray box would sometimes appear in search instead of an application icon.
  • Fixed an issue that could cause the search to delete the first keystroke when you press the Windows key and start typing.
  • Fixed an issue where the third most recent search could not be loaded and remained blank when hovering the mouse over the search icon on the taskbar.
  • Fixed an issue, if users search for Windows Update, the settings will open, but they will not navigate to the Windows Update settings page.
