Samsung confirms that Galaxy Z Fold 3 supports S Pen, there will be no Galaxy Note sequel this year

The new products of Galaxy Unpacked to be unveiled on August 11 have basically been exposed, including Galaxy Z Fold 3/Z Flip 3/Z Flip 3 Lite (to be confirmed) foldable phones, Galaxy Watch 4/4 Classic and Galaxy Buds 2.

After exposing the S Pen protective case for Z Fold 3 yesterday, today Samsung Mobile President TM Roh promised to improve the durability of the foldable phone screen and support the stylus in his latest blog post and said that he would not launch the Note series this time.

In the official blog post, Roh said: Our third-generation foldable device will open up amazing new multitasking capabilities and enhance durability. The main focus here is enhanced durability. This theme was mentioned again in Z Flip 3, where he wrote a more refined style, armed with more durable and powerful materials.

Every iteration of Samsung’s folding phones has improved the durability of the screen, starting from the complete failure of the first cancelled product, to the exquisite plastic screen, and finally to the Ultra Thin Glass (UTG). It is unclear what Samsung will do to further improve durability, but there is definitely room for improvement. A recent leak showed that these two folding phones may have IPX8 waterproof performance, indicating Samsung’s efforts to further enhance durability.

Roh also made it clear in the blog post that no new products in the Galaxy Note series will be launched this year. The blog post wrote: This time we did not release a new Galaxy Note series plan, but to further promote the main features of the Note series to more Samsung Galaxy series devices.
