Samsung Galaxy S21 series sold poorly, only 13.5 million units sold in half a year

Although the Samsung Galaxy S21 series has a good start after being listed at the beginning of the year, the sales results six months later are not very good for Samsung. According to Kiwoom Securities’ latest shipment statistics, Samsung’s Galaxy S21 series sold only 13.5 million units in half a year, 20% lower than the previous generation Galaxy S20 series, which sold 16.4 million units.

Samsung’s best-selling flagship series is the Galaxy S10 series, which has undergone a large-scale redesign and upgrade and sold 37 million units in half a year. Korean media said that the Samsung Galaxy S20 series did not perform well due to the expensive starting price, so Samsung lowered the starting price of the Galaxy S21 series and frequently discounted it.

However, due to the outstanding performance of Apple’s iPhone 12 series and the strength of brands such as Xiaomi, the Galaxy S21 series did not prevent the decline in sales. The international research company Strategy Analytics released the latest report: In the Q2 smartphone market in 2021, Xiaomi Group reached the top in Europe for the first time, and its market share surpassed Samsung and Apple.

However, Samsung is not unprepared. The Galaxy Z Fold 3 and other foldable models that will be released in the second half of the year, as well as the Exynos 2200 developed in cooperation with AMD, are all expected to restore the loss situation.
