Microsoft recently released the first Windows 11 Beta version, and it is recommended that Windows 11 Insider users who are not too adventurous can switch from the Dev development version to the Beta channel. However, some users noticed that the option to switch is not available.
If you want to switch and see the above screen under Settings > Windows Update > Windows Insider Program, Microsoft provides the following steps to recover the lost option.
- Click on the start menu
- In the search box, enter cmd
- At the bottom right of the search results, at the command prompt, click Run as administrator
- At the prompt of UAC, click OK
- At the elevated command prompt, enter: bcdedit /set flight signing on
- Press enter
- At the elevated command prompt, type: bcdedit /set {bootmgr} flightsigning on
- Press enter
- Restart the device
You should now see the missing options:
