Chrome trying to automatically read the SMS verification code from the phone to the PC

When verifying your identity on the desktop network, you must enter the password sent to your smartphone. This is a very common experience. This requires users to find their mobile phones everywhere and read the password. In Chrome 93, Google is working hard to enable desktop browsers to automatically read codes sent to Android phones.

Chrome 93 supports the WebOTP (network one-time password) interface, so if the website also uses this technology, the browser will automatically detect the code that the phone has received. Of course, you need an Android phone for this, and both the phone and the desktop browser must log in to the same Google account.

You can now try this feature with the Chrome 93 beta on the demo page here. Unfortunately, this feature relies on the Chromium web engine and is currently not supported on iOS.
