Transfer Your Information (TYI), the tool designed by the Facebook team with the aim of making it much easier for users to transfer their personal data to other platforms has been rebuilt from scratch in recent months.
As we learn from a release published by the Facebook team, the developers have introduced several improvements to give users greater control over their data to be transferred to other services (such as Google Docs, Dropbox, Google Photos, WordPress, etc.).
Facebook renews the Transfer Your Information tool
In particular, the innovations concern a better user experience overall, two new possible destinations (ie Photobucket and Google Calendar) and the possibility of transferring data relating to Facebook Events.
And again, following this update, users will be able to count on:
- A completely rebuilt experience, simpler and more intuitive, being able to see more easily which destinations and which types of data are supported.
- A higher level of transparency about the status of each transfer, including the ability to more easily retry certain transfers.
- The ability to simultaneously initiate multiple data transfers for a destination.
- Filters that allow users to more precisely select the data they want to transfer.
How to use the new tool
These are the steps to follow to use the Facebook transfer tool:
- Go to the Settings and Privacy section on Facebook (through the menu in the upper right corner and then Settings)
- In the list on the left, select Your Facebook information
- Click on Transfer a copy of your information
- Choose a destination from the various available
- Determine which data you want to transfer
- OK the connection to start the transfer
