A series of new commits spotted by Android Police on Chromium Gerrit suggests that the Mountain View giant intends to add a new price tracking-like feature to Chrome. This feature internally called Wall-e works in tandem with its price tracker to help make it much easier to shop for products at the lowest price while browsing online.
At the moment it is not yet possible to determine exactly how this will work, but the prototype code indicates that when the user has a product listing open with price tracking activated, Chrome will keep an eye on the related offers and if it finds a discount it will notify them. of the price drop.
The user will have the choice to save the product for later or to ignore it, but saving it Chrome will add the article webpage to its bookmarks stored in a foldable carousel at the top. The folder will populate as the user continues to save the products for sale found by Chrome by ordering them according to the most recent, however, it is not clear if the Google browser will synchronize the shopping list folder between the desktop platforms.
The functionality can be tested by enabling the relevant flag as soon as it is introduced with an upcoming Chrome Canary update.
