Google has not yet fixed this two-year-old Android Auto bug

Despite Google having released Android Auto update 6.8, a large number of users are still affected by a two-year-old bug. In fact, the report on the official Google forum of the bug that affects some users following the achievement of 100% charge of their smartphone dates back to September 2019.

In this situation, it is still not clear why the connection between the smartphone and the infotainment system is interrupted thus forcing the user to re-establish it manually. On the Google forum, the last message released by a Community Specialist dates back to November 2020: on that occasion, it was said that ” the team is working to solve the problem that occurs when Android auto disconnects after the battery of your phone reach a sufficient charge level.

As often happens when time passes before the arrival of an official fix, many users have worked hard to find an alternative solution to the problem. In fact, it seems that in some cases the deactivation of the battery optimization mode within the Android Auto settings avoids the occurrence of the bug.

The Android Auto team still has several open bugs to which it has not yet been answered such as, for example, the one related to the missing weather icons.
