Compared to the BMW 225xe which can count on a 1.5-liter 3-cylinder engine combined with an electric unit for a total of 165 kW/224 hp, the new Plug-in model will be offered in the 230xe version with a 2-liter petrol engine. combined with an electric motor. The power is reportedly expected to exceed 270 hp (199 kW).
This would be a unit that on paper should make driving much more fun. Nothing has been said about autonomy in electric only. However, the new model is very likely to go beyond the current approximately 50km. At market launch, the new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer will also be offered with other more traditional engines. We will reportedly have the 218i, the 220i with 48 V Mild Hybrid technology, the 223i always with 48 V Mild Hybrid technology and DCT gearbox and the 218d with DCT gearbox.
The future new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer will rest on the new FAAR platform and offer more space inside the passenger compartment.
