Samsung held the Galaxy Unpacked event last night, which mainly introduced new hardware such as Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G and Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G. However, Samsung also spent a few seconds mentioning its own voice assistant Bixby, especially its performance.
Samsung officially stated: Bixby is now 35% faster than before because it can detect and process your voice on the device without going through the server. This improvement sounds similar to Google and Amazon. With the release of Pixel 4 and 4 XL, Google started to transfer some voice processing to the local device in 2019.
Some Amazon smart speakers can recognize specific Alexa queries without an Internet connection, while Apple iOS 15 allows Siri to work partially offline. Bixby’s performance improvements will support the newly released Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G and Galaxy Z Flip 3 5G. Samsung did not mention whether this improvement will appear on other phones.
