Apple may launch a faster, slimmer 9th-generation iPad this fall

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman just disclosed the design details related to the ninth-generation iPad, such as a faster processor and a thinner design. It is said that Apple plans to refresh its entry-level iPad tablet product line this fall to cater to the strong demand during the back-to-school season. In September last year, Apple launched the eighth-generation iPad based on the A12 Bionic chip, with a starting price of US$329 (starting at US$299 for education discounts).

MacRumors pointed out that the entry-level iPad product line is tailor-made to meet the daily needs of customers, supplemented by fairly affordable terminal pricing. As for the ninth-generation iPad, which is said to arrive this fall, Apple may continue to use the current Touch ID/Home button design, but it will replace it with a faster processor inside, with stronger CPU/GPU performance, and a slimmer appearance.

There are also rumors that Apple also intends to bring important updates to the iPad mini product line, including larger screens, smaller bezels, and improved performance and overall design. Finally, Apple is expected to launch a new generation of iPhone smartphones, Apple Watch smartwatches, AirPods true wireless headphones, and MacBook Pro laptops in the second half of the year.
