Google Chat web and PWA version received dark mode feature

Google announced on August 20 that the web version and PWA version of its own Google Chat will launch a dark mode. After turning it on, you can get a similar experience to the mobile app, helping to reduce eye fatigue.

Google Chat is specially built for business users, able to create group chats, share files and tasks with the team, etc., and can also make video calls. The application can be combined with Google Workspace to access documents, tables, and slides stored in Google Cloud Disk.

To enable the dark mode function, users can log in to the service on the web or PWA, click Settings → Theme Settings, and then select dark mode. Officials said that the feature will be rolled out gradually starting on August 20 and will be applicable to all Google Workspace users, including G Suite Basic/Business users.

Google Chat currently provides a free trial service. If commercial users want to use it, they will need to pay for it in the future. At present, Google’s Gmail mailbox is also integrated with this service to facilitate users to quickly communicate with friends.
