The mute button now available in Google Chrome Global Media Control

Google finally added a mute button to Chrome’s global media controls so that we can change the player’s mute state from the media session. The Picture-in-Picture window used to have a mute button, but Google removed it, so the new button in the global media control dialog is a replacement.

Global media control also supports volume sliders and device selectors, but these are only available when playing media files. It should be noted that these improvements are only available in Chrome Canary, but hope that this very useful feature will enter the mainstream version in a few weeks.

The volume slider and device selector footer view are also available in Canary, but they are only available in cast sessions, not in normal sessions (as can be seen from the GIF above), and it seems that the volume slider will not It was added to the normal conversation, and so far I haven’t seen any mention in Chromium Gerrit.
