Judging from the hardware specifications alone, the OnePlus 9 series smartphone is still quite good. Recently, however, some users are surprised to find that even with up to 256GB of built-in storage, software bugs can still cause applications to randomly occupy more than 100GB of space. Android Police pointed out that the problem seems to be the media storage application, which consumes a lot of storage space for no reason.
As of press time, many OnePlus 9/9 Pro smartphone users have reported this problem. Everyone encounters different space occupancy situations, but if a bug occupies more than half of the storage, it will still affect the overall performance somewhat.
Some sources said. The data size shown here seems to be wrong, and it is not actually taken up by the real file. However, it seems that the release operation can also bring significant performance improvements.
Now this is a head-scratched. I’ve finally come close to filling up the 256GB storage on my @oneplus 9 Pro.
So I ran the usual Google Photos cleanup which said it’d remove over 100GB of data.
But after it was done, I’m still close to full. What gives? pic.twitter.com/fmxdiRoQLU

If you have recently encountered the same problem-plagued, try to empty a plus album application Recently Deleted junk folder. Depending on the actual space occupied, it may take a few minutes to clean up.
Although the exact reason is not clear, many user complaints have been collected on OnePlus official website forums and social platforms such as Reddit. I hope the OnePlus development team can push an appropriate repair plan in time.
