Instagram adds the advertisements in the Shop tab

The Instagram team is introducing advertisements in the Shop tab, a feature launched at the end of last year and which is thus enriched with a novelty that still makes sense. The addition of advertisements, in fact, seems a natural choice for the shopping section of Instagram, in which users generally go to look at the products of brands and creators.

As we learn from Engadget, these ads will look like the other tiles on the Store’s homepage but with a small sponsored label, so users understand that they are advertising. Once you click on a shop announcement, more details about the product will be shown, including any additional images, and you will be able to browse more items from the brand, save the products to your wish list and share them with friends.

And still speaking of Instagram, its developers are trying to make the search function more intuitive by experimenting with searching through topics instead of just based on accounts and hashtags. As explained by the Instagram team, currently the goal is to get search results for a range of keywords directly in English but support for other languages will be added in the future.

And so, searching for the word Space, you will see not only the accounts and hashtags that contain this term but also photos and videos related to the space (this should be particularly useful when you don’t have an exact username or hashtag in mind when searching for a particular topic).
