Here come the Google Assistant routines that last a day

In recent days it has emerged that the Google developer team is working to make the Google Assistant routines smarter through the possibility of setting a delayed start but the Mountain View giant also has other news for its virtual assistant, which week after week it becomes more and more complete and full of customization possibilities.

The novelty to which we refer is represented by the support for the Daylong Routines, thanks to which users have the possibility to automatically activate the actions at different times during the day.

How Google Assistant’s Daylong Routines work

When you create a New routine from the assistant settings or from the Google Home app, you will notice a slightly modified page: users, in fact, will see a bar at the bottom of the screen asking them if they want to schedule a one-day routine and if you tap “Yes”, you will be able to choose which days the routine is to run and select a time zone.

In the Actions section users have the ability to add a schedule and determine which activity needs to be done: it will be possible to add multiple schedules and actions to create a daily schedule, with each tab being dragged for easy scheduling (this is a solution simpler, just to give an example, to turn smart lights on or off than the one that involves creating multiple single-action routines).

Additionally, Google now displays an Enable Routines toggle at the top of the screen to allow quick deactivation of all custom routines, as Daylong Routines are activated automatically on set days and not with a voice command.
