OnePlus COO Liu Fengshuo announced earlier this month that the ColorOS public beta and stable version of the OnePlus 8 series, 8T, the OnePlus 7 series and 7T are planned to be released in 2022. Today, ColorOS 12 is officially announced and will be released in mid-to-late September. Fengshuo Liu confirmed on Weibo that these old models will directly adapt to ColorOS 12 instead of the early adopter version of ColorOS 11.
The following is the ColorOS adaptation plan of OnePlus:
- OnePlus 8/8 Pro/8T plans to release the ColorOS public beta in early 2022, and the stable version of ColorOS will be launched in the first half of 2022;
- OnePlus 7/7 Pro/7T/7T Pro plans to release the ColorOS public beta in mid-2022, and the stable version of ColorOS will be launched in the second half of 2022.
The official previously stated that due to the differences in software and hardware for each model, the specific adaptation time and sequence will be different. Please refer to the official announcement at that time. If there is a more precise adaptation time plan, it will be synchronized in the community later.
OnePlus Liu Fengshuo said that the 7 series and 8 series, like previous models, did not take into account the need to adapt to another system when they went on the market. Therefore, the difficulties and challenges encountered in the actual work process are relatively large, and there are many places to consider.
