Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra still uses the same 108MP rear camera of the previous generation

Samsung will not use the 200-megapixel ISOCELL HP1 camera sensor on the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s main camera, but will still use the same 108-megapixel main camera as the Galaxy S21 Ultra. Given that Samsung has not announced an upgrade to the existing 108MP camera module, it will be the same as the Galaxy S21 Ultra. However, there are still several months before the release of the Galaxy S22 series, so it is not ruled out that Samsung will update the existing camera modules in the future.

Considering that Samsung is said to start mass production of the Galaxy S22 series in November, if Samsung does not update in the near future, we will have to think that it uses the same sensor on the Galaxy S21 Ultra. In addition to the 108-megapixel main sensor, the Galaxy S22 Ultra will retain the S-Pen function. This time, perhaps Samsung can introduce some improvements, so users who adapt to the Galaxy Note series will not miss its absence.

As we previously reported, Samsung is not expected to bring a 3D ToF camera to the most senior members of the Galaxy S22 family, but it should include a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera that supports OIS. According to reports, Samsung will also insist on using a 40-megapixel front camera for the Galaxy S22 Ultra. Judging from the image quality of the under-screen camera, Samsung cannot risk using it on any Galaxy S22 model, because these flagship phones may be severely criticized for not being able to compete with the iPhone 13 lineup.
