Apple will release a redesigned iPad Pro in 2022

Mark Gurman shared his expectations for future Apple products in his latest issue of the Power On newsletter. Gurman expects the new MacBook Pro and AirPods to be released before the end of 2021, but he does not expect any other breakthrough product releases until at least next year.

Looking forward to 2022, Gurman said that Apple plans to launch several products, including the new AirPods Pro, the redesigned iPad Pro, the Mac Pro and MacBook Air equipped with Apple chips, as well as up to three new Apple Watches.

The new AirPods Pro will use motion sensors for fitness tracking, and Apple has also tested a smaller design that eliminates the earphone handle of the AirPods Pro. For the redesigned iPad Pro, Apple is testing a new glass back panel that supports wireless charging and can place AirPods on the back of the iPad Pro to charge it.

In addition, Gurman believes that 2022 may also be the year when Apple launches MR (mixed reality) headsets, which combine the functions of augmented reality AR and virtual reality VR, but the actual release may take two to four years.

Gurman insisted that Apple is developing satellite communication functions for the future iPhone, which allows users to send text messages and submit emergency reports in areas where there is no mobile phone service, and pointed out that these functions are not ready yet.
