Here are Android 12’s dynamic colors in action on Google Assistant

By now we know how impactful the dynamic app coloring system introduced by Google with Android 12 is and the latest example is Google Assistant. The new Material You is certainly a step forward in terms of graphic consistency between the components of the operating system and the various apps and part of this effect is attributable to Monet, the system with which Google colors the apps based on the background applied on the home.

With the release of the stable version of Android 12 getting closer and closer, it is clear that the Mountain View company is stepping up testing so as to have a release with as few hitches as possible. In fact, in the last few days, there have been several apps that have been updated to accommodate the new graphic language designed for Android 12. Some users have reported that on the Android 12 Beta 5 with version 12.37.19.29 of the Google app installed it is activated Monet with all its colors.

The lucky few are certainly part of a server-side staged rollout through which Google decides which users to allow to view the new functionality (or as in this case, interface). Usually, these are a few devices, so that if problems arise, the number of people who are afflicted by them would be significantly reduced. Google Assistant, in addition to the new colors, sees the adoption of new shapes for some keys, without however changing the interface.

The Material You will only appear initially on Pixels and can then be adopted by other OEMs later. In fact, Google recently announced that Monet will become part of the AOSP. It will be interesting to see if and how other smartphone manufacturers will integrate this change, certainly not easy to implement if done in a workmanlike manner given the attention to detail necessary for a correct implementation.
