Microsoft announces becoming a strategic member of the LF Energy Foundation

In a recent announcement, Microsoft announced that it has become a strategic member of the LF Energy Foundation, and Microsoft’s senior director of energy strategy Audrey Lee was selected as a member of the LF Energy Foundation Management Committee. LF Energy is a non-profit organization affiliated with the Linux Foundation, dedicated to accelerating the energy transformation of the world’s power grids and transportation systems through open source.

In an interview with foreign media ZDNet, Dr. Shuli Goodman, executive director of the LF Energy Foundation, said that Microsoft will play an important role in helping to advance the organization’s mission to decarbonize power grids, transportation, and the built environment.

Goodman said: The LF Energy Foundation is very pleased that Microsoft has joined our organization as a member of General. Through MSFT’s commitment to a carbon-negative stance, they directly encourage the technology sector to find more efficient ways to purchase and consume electricity. The LF Energy organization has nurtured all The most cutting-edge projects among open source projects, focusing on improving the automation, control, security, virtualization and interoperability of power systems. Our members have contributed valuable code, tools, resources and expertise to increase the speed of these projects.

In a statement to ZDNet, Microsoft said that their cooperation with LF Energy is part of their 100/100/0 effort announced in July. At the time, Microsoft leaders Lucas Joppa and Noelle Walsh said that their long-term vision was: In all the world’s power grids, 100% of the electronics, 100% of the time, are produced by zero-carbon sources. They hope to reach this goal by 2030.
