GTA 5: Transphobic content could leave the next-gen

GTA 5 is an evergreen, one of those titles that maintain their audience and fame over time. This is mainly due to the development team, Rockstar Games, which is committed to constantly updating the game by implementing new content and activities to be carried out, so as not to age the product and to make it always suitable for users requests. It is therefore inevitable that such work also has a certain responsibility, given the huge community that has been created around it.

The fame of the famous Grand Theft Auto saga does not depend on its history, which is often totally ignored by the players, but on the frenetic and free gameplay, thanks to which it is possible to pass the time inside the game in many ways different, especially in the last chapter in question, namely GTA 5. It must be said, however, that the series has accumulated its fame also due to rather controversial content, sometimes homophobic or transphobic.

In this regard, Out Making Games, a company in favor of the rights of the LGBTQ + community, has made a public request to Rockstar Games in which it asks to remove the transphobic content within the title. In particular, the company was referring to the next-gen version of the title, coming soon on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, in order to have a release clean of content that could cause damage to gamers.

As already mentioned, it is obvious that the developers of the work have a certain responsibility on their shoulders, having created one of the most popular video games of recent times, and such a request should not be too difficult to fulfill. All that remains is to see what Rockstar Games’ next move will be and whether or not they will accept this proposal.
