Brave browser announced that it will use its own search engine by default

In June of this year, Brave launched Brave Search, a search service that focuses on privacy experiences; now the company announced that its Brave browser will use its own search engine by default. Currently, users in certain markets such as the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom will use this search engine to replace Google by default. Users in other countries will also see this change soon.

Unlike major search engines, Brave’s search engine does not include user tracking, making it a more attractive option for users of the company. Users in the U.S., U.K., and Canada will now use Brave Search by default instead of Google Search.

In addition, users in Germany will now use Brave Search by default instead of DuckDuckGo, and users in France will use their own private search engine instead of Qwant by default. Brave said it plans to roll out this default search engine change in other countries in the coming months. If you don’t want to wait, you can also manually change the default search engine of the Brave browser to Brave Search.
