Microsoft today announced the update of Office.com and Windows Office applications, adding a new homepage, my content and creation page, making it easier for users to find all content across applications and storage locations And files, see what needs attention, and get the applications and templates needed for the job.
The homepage will have a recommended action section at the top, highlighting matters that need attention, such as upcoming meetings or important e-mails. The quick access section below will display important Office documents.
Here is the update
- New Homepage: The recommended files section has been updated to include built-in action buttons, allowing people to complete tasks immediately, such as replying to comments or sharing files, without having to jump between apps. The quick access section adds additional filtering functions to help users find recently opened, shared, and favorite content. Users can also share or reserve time with colleagues to review content in the experience through Teams, so as to easily collaborate.
- My Content Pane: The update includes enhancements to the ability to search and filter content by file type, activity, and time. Users can also find files, such as recordings and attached files, based on their work objects or meeting content. An infinite scroll feature has been added, so users will not be restricted in search results, even if it goes back a few years.
- Creation Pane: The update showcases the ability to create new content using dozens of tools in Microsoft 365. It’s easy to find the application you need for a task, or choose a template from several new template categories to help you get started. These template categories include company templates that help users create branded content.
