As with every new Pixel device, the launch of the Google Pixel 6 was not without a hitch. Aside from the availability issues, the last drawback arises when changing a developer setting. According to Reddit, by changing the AOD animator scale in developer options, the fingerprint icon and battery level disappear from the Always On Display.

If it is not possible to restore the default option it is recommended to go to System> Developer Options and look for the entry related to the animator scale for the AOD, then set it to 1x. A comment in the discussion on Reddit argues that changing the animator duration scale also causes a problem on the Google Pixel 5, and potentially on older models as well, which takes the user to the lock screen after touching the scanner. The cause of this issue is unclear at the moment, but it may have something to do with how Always On Display dynamically switches to the lock screen when you press the power button or tap the screen. Given that the animator duration scale is part of the developer options, it’s not surprising that some features lose stability after tweaking them. A couple of days ago Google Pixel 6 received the official tool to calibrate the fingerprint reader.
