Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 appeared in Geekbench

Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S7+ have been regarded as excellent Android tablets since their release, but Samsung is developing better products. The South Korean company is expected to launch the Galaxy Tab S8 series sometime early next year, and the design of some models of the product line has been exposed. Now, the first signs of the Galaxy Tab S8 processor configuration have appeared.

A new Samsung device model SM-X808U appeared in the Geekbench database, revealing details of its processor and memory. It is the 5G version of the Galaxy Tab S8+ and is used in the US market. According to the benchmark list, the tablet uses Qualcomm’s upcoming flagship processor, the Snapdragon 898. The device scored 1211 points in the Geekbench single-core CPU performance test and 3193 points in the multi-core CPU test.

The chipset seems to have a large core clocked at 3GHz, three small cores clocked at 2.5GHz, and four energy-saving cores clocked at 1.9GHz. Galaxy Tab S8+ seems to have 8GB of RAM and runs Android 12. It remains to be seen whether Samsung will use the recently released Android 12L operating system on the Galaxy Tab S8 series.

Samsung is expected to launch three Galaxy Tab S8 models. Galaxy Tab S8, Galaxy Tab S8+, and Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra. The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra may be equipped with a huge, 14.6-inch OLED display. The Galaxy Tab S8 may be equipped with an 11-inch screen, while the Galaxy Tab S8+ may have a 12.4-inch OLED display. All models are expected to use a 120Hz display.

The Korean company may release these models in the form of Exynos 2200 and Snapdragon 898 processors, with a minimum of 8GB of memory and 128GB/256GB of internal storage. The Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra may also have a 12GB RAM + 512GB storage version. The Galaxy Tab S8 is expected to have a built-in 8000mAh battery, while the Galaxy Tab S8+ provides a 10090mAh battery. The battery capacity of the Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra is 14000mAh, and all support 45W fast charging.

In terms of communications, these tablets may be launched in pure Wi-Fi, LTE and 5G versions. Pricing for the Galaxy Tab S8, Galaxy Tab S8+ and Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra may start at US$740, US$1120 and US$1320, respectively.
