Apple Maps released new 3D map in Washington D.C. to allow users to explore landmarks and memorials

Apple today announced that it has upgraded the 3D map of Washington DC in the Apple Maps application, allowing users to explore landmarks in the city and many memorials including the World War II Memorial. The new map experience doesn’t seem to be revealed yet, but it is likely to appear soon.

When iOS 15 was released in September, Apple Maps received a new 3D map with more detailed and custom-designed landmarks in some major cities such as Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and London. Apple said that 3D maps will be promoted to other cities later this year, including Philadelphia, San Diego and Washington, DC. Apple previewed this feature in Washington, DC today to commemorate Veterans Day.
