Relic announces Age of Empires 4 game update roadmap for this winter and next spring

Early this morning, Relic announced the follow-up update roadmap for Age of Empires 4, detailing the update support plan for the game from now to 2022. Let’s take a brief look. First of all, through this week’s 7879 patches, the game’s performance, system, and other aspects have been upgraded, and the Xbox account connection problem has been fixed.

In the winter of 2021, the development team will make more than hundreds of new balance adjustments to the game, fix a large number of game bugs, and add some functions that players request, including the function of viewing player scores in the game, improvements to the minimap, etc.

The balance adjustments in the winter of 2021 include reducing the threat of crossbowmen, spearmen and elite crossbowmen to cavalry; greatly reducing the production cost of Chinese crossbows. In 2022, the developer plans to add user-generated content tools for Age of Empires 4, but it does not affect the continued use of mods made by others. In addition, in the spring of 2022, Age of Empires 4 will join qualifying, improve the map, and add patrol movement functions.

Developer Relic also revealed some follow-up development plans in the official announcement, such as the improvement of shortcut keys, adjustment of AI difficulty, etc., but no specific timetable has been given.
