Two more new betas of WhatsApp Desktop and iOS arrive with a couple of new features

The work of the WhatsApp developer team to improve this popular cross-platform instant messaging service continues unabated and among the news of the last few hours, there is the release of two betas for the desktop client and for the iOS application.

What’s new in WhatsApp Desktop beta 2.2146.5

Starting with WhatsApp Desktop, with version 2.2146.5 beta the developers complete the work related to the functionality that allows users to manage privacy settings directly from this client. Whoever sees the Privacy Settings item in the WhatsApp Web or Desktop Settings menu has the ability to manage the last access, profile photo, activate or deactivate read receipts and choose who can add it to groups. Probably in the coming weeks, this function will be made available to a larger number of users.

What’s new in WhatsApp Beta 2.21.230.18 for iOS

Moving on to the application dedicated to iOS devices, the new beta version is 2.21.230.18, with which a function that we have already seen in the beta releases for Android is made available to a certain amount of users: we are talking about the information below for the unknown business account.

In practice, when you receive a message from a business account not included in your contacts, WhatsApp highlights it and allows users to block it or add it to their contacts. This change is currently available to a limited circle of testers and should be rolled out to a larger number in the coming weeks.
