Microsoft has pushed an update to its Surface application, upgrading the version number of the application to 61.84.139.0. The latest update includes support for automatic detection of the Surface Slim Pen 1 stylus. It also includes some fixes.
In 2019, Surface Slim Pen 1 was released with Surface Pro 7, Surface Pro X, and Surface Laptop 3. The Surface Slim Pen 1 can be inserted into the top of the Surface Pro X Type Cover keyboard and will be charged wirelessly when docked, replacing the AAAA battery power supply method that the old Pen has always used. Surface Slim Pen 1 will automatically pop up a menu when it is taken out, allowing users to immediately create on applications such as Whiteboard.
