Samsung and Google are about to fix two annoying bugs

Often the developer teams of the various smart phone manufacturers are forced to solve more or less annoying bugs encountered by users and in recent days those of Samsung and Google have been quite busy.

Samsung working to fix the Galaxy S21 bug

The Korean giant has released the update that brought the One UI 4 customized interface with Android 12 to the smartphones of the Samsung Galaxy S21 series but in the United States this update brought with it an annoying bug: users, in fact, reported the presence of lag in the interface and this problem is caused by a bug related to the display refresh rate, which automatically switches from 120 Hz to 60 Hz even when it shouldn’t.

The Samsung team is aware of the problem and is working on a solution. It seems that the bug was actually detected in beta tests but the fix present in the current version of the software (BUK7) only works on some units while a complete fix should arrive with the next update.

A bug fix will come with Android 12L

The Google team is also struggling with the resolution of a bug due to which, if the automatic change of wallpapers is set, games could crash (when the switch between one wallpaper and another occurs).

We remind you that Material You, the new design language introduced with Android 12, brings with it a dynamic theme engine that extracts the colors from the current background and distributes them on the system user interface and on the supported apps and the modification of the background involves a configuration change that forces all app activity to restart so that they use the new background colors for the theme

Well, the main cause of this bug causing games to crash has been identified in the forced changes to the configuration of Android and its solution will be implemented with Android 12L: in practice, the fix will ensure that the changes to the background will not trigger changes. to the theme and will not force restart the app activities, thus preventing crashes.
