Here’s how reactions on WhatsApp will work

The WhatsApp developer team is constantly working on improving this popular cross-platform instant messaging service, as confirmed by the almost daily release of new beta versions for Android devices and among the upcoming features in the coming months we also find one concerning reactions.

We have known for several weeks now that users will soon be able to respond to a message received with a reaction, a feature that will be available in both individual and group conversations. Well, today we discover that everyone will be able to see who reacted to a message simply by viewing information about the reaction, as shown in the following screenshot:

All reactions are listed in the first tab called “All” and then there are other tabs dedicated to the single possible emoji used. Users will be able to react to a specific message once and reactions are limited to 6 emojis.

The function in question has been identified in a beta version of WhatsApp for iOS but the developers are working to bring it also on the beta channel for Android. Unfortunately, there is currently no information on when the reactions could be made available to all users in a stable release of the application.
