The Google App repositions the search bar for more convenient access

The Mountain View giant is working on a redesign of its Google app for Android that should improve the accessibility of the search bar. In the new version of the app the search bar is located at the bottom of the screen, but it is currently still displayed above some content, implying that the work does not seem to have been completed yet.

The novelty was identified in the latest beta version 12.47.12 of the Google App, after an update of the beta of the Google Play Store app on a Google Pixel 6 device.

The Google search bar is easier to reach

This repositioning of the Google search bar makes perfect sense as smartphone screens are currently mostly large in size and thus become more practical to reach when using the device with one hand. With one of the next stable versions of the Google App, the new position of the search bar could become effective for all users, but at the moment it is still too early to be sure.
