Microsoft makes a concession, it is easier for users to set the default browser in Windows 11

Microsoft has a lot of controversy in the improvement of Windows 11, one of which is that it makes it difficult for users to set the default browser to any product other than Edge. After experiencing a lot of protests and strategic changes, Microsoft seems to have improved in the latest Windows 11 beta version, and it is relatively easier to set the default browser to the user’s own preference.

Progress is slow, but there is progress anyway. According to Deskmodder, Windows 11 Build 22509 now has a new button in the Standard Applications section of the settings, which allows users to easily set the default browser for the device.

This of course is not as convenient as allowing users to set their own settings in the browser, but it is much better than setting a default browser for each protocol separately. Unfortunately, this button only sets HTTP and HTTPS as preferred browsers. For example, Microsoft still defaults PDF to Edge.
