Battlefield as we know it is about to change, here are all the news

Earlier today, Electronic Arts announced big news for the Battlefield series. As reported by the publisher of Redwood, the series from today will change radically, both at the level of development and at the level of seriality. The future of the shooter, therefore, is completely at risk and could soon debut in a new form.

Let’s go in order: the first, important news is the creation of the Battlefield Universe. It is basically a label that will bring together all the games in the series. And for the first time in history, the games will not only be developed by DICE but also by other studios across North America. The first studios called to work are Ripple Effect (developers of the Portal Mode of Battlefield 2042) and the new studio of Marcus Lehto, creator of Halo and will improve the gaming experience of the last chapter, plagued by several problems and which is struggling to recover on your feet.

Another important news for Battlefield is certainly the change of direction it will take. The original creators of the series, in fact, from today welcome Vince Zampella of Respawn Entertainment, who will be in charge of managing the franchise in its entirety, even if it is not clear how much creative freedom will be left to them. Say hello instead to Oskar Gabrielson, who is leaving his role as General Manager on the Swedish development team to take on a new challenge outside of Electronic Arts.

How the Battlefield universe will develop is not yet clear. Surely a similar decision was not taken lightly and we will not know if the less than optimal performances of the last chapter have influenced more or less heavily or if it is just the natural evolution of the franchise. We will update you as soon as there will be more news and details about it, so keep following us for all the updates in the pipeline
