The Last of Us Remastered seems to be getting closer and closer

Over the last year, there has been a lot of talk about a remastered of the first The Last of Us. The indiscretion was launched in April, by the mouth of the usual Jason Schreier, who revealed some plans of Sony (but never officially confirmed). Now, with the publication of a job ad, the remake of the first, historic chapter of the Naughty Dog series seems very close.

Let’s go in order: according to what was reported by Schreier, the remake of The Last of Us was initially in development at PlayStation Visual Arts, with Naughty Dog busy controlling the entire operation. Now it seems the roles have reversed, with the lead developer becoming the supporting studio. And it is precisely the studio that would have passed in second place to look for a game designer able to implement different features of an existing game in a new framework.

In itself, the news would have no value, was it not that such a skill is required precisely for remakes. The job posting then goes on and reveals how in the study they are also interested in the possibility of improving the various scripts for the interaction. All this leads us to believe that PlayStation Visual Arts are looking for people capable of adapting an old game to modern systems and considering that the studio was associated with the remastered of The Last of Us, something could actually be boiling in the pot.

With Naughty Dog fully up and running on their next game, which will apparently be a standalone multiplayer, we still can’t be certain about the arrival of a remastered of The Last of Us. But surely, by combining the rumors and this new job announcement, something is moving. If it will be a new edition of a game that is still modern like that of Naughty Dog, we still cannot say for sure
