Facebook Messenger in the US began to test the split payment feature

Facebook Messenger announced today that it has begun testing a new Split Payments feature that introduces a way for users to share bills and expenses through the app. The company said that this new feature is a free and fast way to handle finances through Messenger. This new feature will be rolled out to US users next week.

To use Split Payments, users need to click the Start button in the payment center in the group chat or Messenger. There, you can split the bill evenly, or modify the number of donations for everyone in the group chat, including or not including yourself. You can also choose to enter a personalized message.

Finally, you will be asked to confirm your Facebook payment details, after which your request will be sent and can be viewed in your group chat post. In a blog post about this new feature, it said: If you have ever had to worry about sharing (and getting rewarded) for group dinners, common household expenses, or even monthly rent, it will become easier.
