Mi A1 can upgrade to Android 12 and there are many third-party ROMs to choose from

It is believed that the Xiaomi Mi A1 launched in September 2017 has already been retired, and most of them are probably lying quietly in the drawer. Although the official no longer provides support for this device, the third-party ROM for this device is still being updated.

NotebookCheck editor Codrut Nistor has a Xiaomi Mi A1, but now it is no longer his main device and has been used by his 10-year-old daughter. Recently, he was pleasantly surprised to find that this phone even has a third-party ROM based on the Android 12 system that can be installed. You know, the Xiaomi Mi A1 comes pre-installed with Android 7.1.2, which was later officially upgraded to Android 9 and then stopped for maintenance.

Xiaomi Mi A1 now has at least three third-party ROMs based on Android 12 that can be used, PixelExperience, ArrowOS and AOSP. The first two are still in beta. AOSP has entered the stable version, but there are still gesture control problems. Xiaomi Mi A1 uses a 5.5-inch IPS display, is equipped with a Snapdragon 625 processor, and has 4GB+64GB of storage space.
