OnePlus announced the successor to last year’s budget Buds Z. Although the new generation of Buds Z2 looks exactly like the original version, they offer major upgrades, most notably active noise reduction and promise longer battery life. The new product can play for 5 hours without interruption when ANC is turned on, or for 7 hours without ANC.
This is the duration of the 40 mAh battery built into each earbud. On the other hand, the charging box charged by USB-C is equipped with a 520 mAh battery, which can provide enough energy for the earplugs for up to 5 hours of playback in just 10 minutes.
In addition, Buds Z2 also provides a transparent mode, when you need to pay attention to the surrounding environment, you can temporarily cut off ANC. In terms of sound quality, there is no difference between Buds Z2 and Buds Pro, because the company said that the same 11mm dynamic driver in Buds Pro is also equipped here.
Just like the other products of OnePlus Buds, these products have better integration capabilities with phones made by OnePlus. However, if you are using a different brand or iPhone, you can use the official HeyMelody app to set the function.
A pair of Buds Z2 is priced at 99 US dollars in the United States and 99 euros in Europe. The only color available is pearl white. The obsidian black version should be available sometime next year.
